February 14, 1985/the national day of love
something spectacular
occurred
out of love

on that day
a great man
greater than gods
titans or tiger woods
AND
a marvelous woman
more marvelous than
the sun kissing the moon
got together
to practice/their power/of procreation
out of love

see
this man
dropped out
of college
out of love
for his family
and
this woman
out of love
for her family
crossed
the fattest ocean
left
the third world
for a first class
lifestyle

21 years ago
out of love
you two
graced me
with life
so that
21 years later
I could write
this poem
out of love
for you
